Lester Paul Francis Jr., born on September 18, 1934, passed away on September 30, 2010 with his family gathered by his side. Les was born in El Paso, TX to Lester Paul Francis Sr. and Thelma Francis. He attended Electra High School and went on to graduate from the University of Texas where he received his Bachelor’s of Art Degree in Radio and TV in 1957. Les spent his entire professional career in the automobile industry. He was a Chevrolet dealer for over 25 years in Snyder, Texas, St. Louis, Missouri and Roswell, New Mexico, and continued to remain active in the car business. He was currently employed at Park Place Motorcars in Dallas. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and his strong faith and positive attitude were his greatest gifts. Les was passionate about the St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Longhorns, and was also was an avid golfer and golf fan. Throughout his life Les was known as a man of great faith and also as an incredibly committed father and husband. Les was very active with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in St. Louis Mo and was its President from 1978-1981. Throughout the remainder of his life, he helped in the growth of that organization and continued to minister to those around him. Les married his High school sweetheart and the love of his life, Patricia McCracken, on June 17th 1955. They have been blessed by four beautiful children and nine grandchildren. He is survived by his son, Stan and wife Nancy Ann, son Brad and wife Renee, daughter Cindy Balmer and husband Dan and daughter Jill Murawski and husband Brian. He is also survived by his sister Sandy Chase and his brother Byron and his wife Nancy. Les is also survived by his dear mother, Thelma, who is 98 years young. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to www.alzheimers.org or www.mystronghold.org. A Memorial Service will be held at Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church on Saturday October 9, 2010 at 11 am. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday, October 8 from 6 pm to 8 pm.
