Leola Boutwell

Leola Boutwell, age 89, of Dallas, Texas passed away on Saturday February 17, 2018. Leola was born May 13, 1928 in Indianola, Mississippi to parents Dewey and Adell McMullin. She was the oldest of eight children and she graduated from Indianola High School in 1947. Leola married George Elbert Boutwell on March 29, 1947, divorced in 1954, and eventually remarried again in 1956. They were together until his passing in 1982. Leola worked as a bookkeeper in the flooring industry for over 40 years. She enjoyed playing Bingo, working puzzles, and singing Gospel songs.

Leola is survived by; daughter Jody Anderson; daughter Barbara White; and son-in-law John White; grandchildren Cheryl Warren, Ritchie Seguin, Phillip Kelly, Jerry Kelly Jr., Charlie Kelly, John White IV, Stephen Boutwell, Marcie Boutwell, Keetha Boutwell, Dian Rogers, George Boutwell III, Michelle May, Amber Jenkins, 28 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; siblings Billy McMullin and Janet Renfroe, and numerous nieces nephews, family members and friends.

Leola was preceded in death by her husband George Boutwell; daughter Carolyne Ballantine; son, George Boutwell Jr; son David Boutwell; granddaughter Amy Joyce Boutwell; parents Dewey and Adell McMullin, and siblings JoAnn, Maurice, Lester, Edward, and Harvey.

A visitation for Leola will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A burial will occur at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228.
