Leah Marie Lacey Pasant went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2023, at the age of 52. Leah was born in Garland, Texas, on May 19, 1971, to Marie Coe Lacey and Bart Lacey. She graduated from South Garland High School in 1989. Leah worked professionally at Jackson National Life Insurance Agency, was in management at 21st Century Fox, Blockbuster Corporate, and Starbucks Corporation. Leah finally settled into the construction business as a career. Her last position before she retired was at Sigma Marble Company working for George Kanan. She loved working and was known to be an outgoing personality and a superior project manager to all her colleagues. However, Leah’s greatest accomplishment and biggest joy in life was her son Jake Wade Rhoades, born on December 28, 2000.
Married in 1999, to Kenneth Wade Rhoades, Leah and Kenny welcomed their son Jake the next year. In June 2011, Leah married her longtime friend and business associate Jim Pasant after reconnecting many years later. Leah is survived by her loving husband, Jim, her son Jake, her stepchildren Jim Pasant II, Sarah Pasant and Matt Pasant, her father Bart Lacey and brother Clay Conley Lacey. She was preceded in death by her mother Marie Coe Lacey and Jake’s father Kenneth Wade Rhoades.
Leah was a committed Catholic, who along with her husband Jim gave to many charitable causes including The Family Place, where she also worked as a cheerful volunteer to those she encountered. In addition, together they supported Café Momentum, United Way, Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, The Catholic Foundation and Family Gateway along with many others. Leah’s passions in life were her son Jake, live music, especially Rock n’ Roll, theater, notably Dallas Summer Musicals and her many lifelong friends and family members. Her sense of style and unmatched humor always brightened the room. She and her husband Jim welcomed many friends to their lake house on weekends in Tool, Texas, and she enjoyed being on the water and cooking meals for everyone to enjoy.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday January 3, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and the Holy Rosary on Thursday January 4, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, both at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. The Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at All Saints Catholic Church at 10:30 am.
