The oldest of seven children, Larry was born to Geraldine Baker and Lawrence P. Morton, Sr. in Dallas. He graduated from Jesuit High School in 1949 and afterwards attended SMU.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lois, and their three children, David and wife Mary, Lisa Meara, and Chris. His grandchildren Christopher, James and Robert Meara, Matthew, Kailey and Caroline and their mother Nancy. Also brothers Marvin, Gerald, Granville and sisters Catherine, Martha and numerous other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Patricia.
Most of Larry’s career was spent at Morton Foods, then Borden Snacks and eventually retiring from Tennessee Press in 1997.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 799, Jesuit Alumni Board, Men of St. Thomas prayer group and Ostomy Association.
Visitation will be November 11, 6-7pm, followed by a Rosary 7-7:30 Father John Libone presiding, at Sparkman-Hillcrest, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX 75225. The Funeral is November 12, 1pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Church with Father John Libone and Father James Dorman presiding over Mass, concelebrating Monsignor Milam Joseph, Deacon Ken Reisor and Deacon Tony Campise. Interment to follow at 3pm, at the Calvary Hill Mausoleum with Father John Libone presiding.
