May was the first woman dispatcher for the City of Dallas Police Department working with them for 15 years. She retired as a Dallas County Sheriff dispatcher at age 75.
She is survived by her son Ron Horak; daughter-in-law Lonnette Horak; granddaughters Leann Tietz, and Tracee Feik; great-grandchildren Nicole Tietz, Emily Tietz, Andi Feik, and Madison Feik; niece Pat Gleaves; cousin Tommie Breez; stepson Cecil Hitchcock; and adopted daughter Susie Sterling.
We were truly blessed to have Mama May for 101 years. God bless and rest in peace.
