Lauren Christine Huddleston, 28, passed from this life and went to be with God eternally on October 3, 2010. Born on January 26, 1982, to Carl Huddleston and Patricia Rohde, Lauren left a legacy of kindness and generosity. Lauren was a 2000 graduate of Highland Park High School and received her Bachelor of Business Administration and Master in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005. She earned her CPA license in 2005 and since then worked as a tax consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she recently was promoted to manager. While at the University of Texas, Lauren was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and active in Reformed University Fellowship (RUF). After college she helped lay the foundation for UrbanLife, a young adult ministry at First United Methodist Church Dallas. Lauren was an active member in UrbanLife and frequently participated in volunteer work, most recently building a Methodist children’s home with them during a mission trip to Costa Rica. Lauren loved traveling, skiing, scuba diving, Texas football or just having a glass of pinot noir or malbec with friends and family. Lauren is preceded in death by her grandparents Charles and Ardath Huddleston and George and Jeanette Rohde. She is survived by her father Carl Huddleston and his wife Gay Lynn; her mother Tricia Rohde and her fiancé Tom Stetka; her brother Charles Townsend and his wife Mandy; her sister Melissa Stephens and her husband Richard; her sister Jennifer Huddleston; and her college sweetheart W. Christopher Smith. She also leaves behind three nieces and a nephew, Georgina and Mia Stephens and Colin and Katherine Townsend. The family would like to thank Southwest Transplant Alliance and the doctors and nurses at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas for their care and support that allowed Lauren to fulfill her wish to be an organ donor. A memorial service to celebrate Lauren’s life will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2010, at First United Methodist Church Dallas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southwest Transplant Foundation at 810 N. Zang Blvd., Dallas, TX 75208.
