Larry Wayne Lokey went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 13, 2010. He died peacefully at home in Dallas. He was born in Lubbock, Texas on May 18, 1945. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Mary Helen Cefalu Lokey. Also surviving are son Lance S. Lokey of Lubbock; brother Kenneth R. Lokey of Lubbock; sister Geraldine Lokey Piercy and husband Norman of Houston; sister Virginia Lokey Plotner and husband Greg of Houston; James E. Lokey and wife Marian of Plano; brother-in-law Earle Cefalu Jr, and wife Susie of Amite, LA; sister-in-law Katherine R. Cefalu of Winston-Salem, NC; sister-in-law Martha Lee Palotta and husband Joseph of Baton Rouge, LA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Bruce Gerald Lokey and mother Lillian Adams Lokey. He graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Tech University with a major in General Business. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He served his country in the Army National Guard. He was a technical analyst specializing in computer programming for business applications. His career in this field spanned almost 40 years. His exceptional knowledge and skill in working with computers and electronics earned him the respect of his co-workers, friends and family. He was an avid golfer and his enthusiasm for the game was well known by all who knew him. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved fishing. The family expresses their appreciation to the ministerial staff of First Baptist Church Dallas, Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center, Hospice Plus and many caring physicians through the years. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund or the General Budget at First Baptist Dallas, 1707 San Jacinto St., Dallas, TX 75201. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 16th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be Wednesday, November 17th at 12:30 pm at First Baptist Dallas in Truett Chapel with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225.
