Larry was the third of five children raised in West Dallas and was educated in the Dallas Independent School District. Where he attended elementary at CF Carr. Advancing to Thomas A Edison middle school. And going on to LG Pinkston High School, were he nurtured his love for swimming. He gave his life to Christ at an early age at Dallas West Church of Christ.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, John & Elmina Hollins, brother Johnny Ray and a very special lifelong friend Curtis Hill.

He leaves to cherish his memories his brother, Leonard Hollins; sisters, Gwen Edwards (Louis) and Gloria Tisdale; and a host of nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives. He also leaves to mourn special friends, the Felder family and the Hill family.
