Ladeen Fogel Pluss

Ladeen Fogel Pluss, 86, of Lufkin, Texas, passed away on March 3, 2024. She was born in Denver, CO on May 16, 1937, to Ida and Max Fogel. Ladeen graduated from East High School in Denver, CO and studied journalism at the University of Texas and University of Denver. She married Jim Pluss in 1957 and moved to Lufkin, Texas where she finished her education at Stephen F. Austin State University and raised her family. She served on the Boards of the Ellen Trout Zoo and the Museum of East Texas. She was active in the American Cancer Society and was a member of the Junior League of Lufkin. She worked politically for women’s issues.

Ladeen was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Pluss Feldman, brother-in-law Sam Pluss, sister-in-law Marilyn Pluss Kramish, and brother-in-law Al Kramish. Ladeen is survived by her husband Jim, her son Steven (Pamela), son-in-law Brad Feldman, her grandchildren Danny Feldman (Rachel), Molly Pluss and Henry Pluss (Hope Rovner), her sister Helen Ruth Mozer (Erwin), brother Marshall Fogel, sister-in-law Zoni Pluss, and many nieces and nephews.

Ladeen was an avid Scrabble and Words with Friends buff and played with friends, nieces, and nephews continuously. Her love of people and kindness throughout her life are testament to her many lasting friends of all ages and walks of life.

Graveside service on March 6, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park in the Garden of David section, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas 75225. Reception at Crown Colony Country Club in Lufkin, Texas on March 23, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
