Krzysztof grew up in Bydgoszcz with his older brother Waldemar and younger sister Katarzyna. Krzystof was fondly known by the nicknames Krzysiu, Krzyniu, and Chris. As a child he was a tinker, able to collect recycled items, to build bikes for his family and neighbors. He loved to take things apart, such as motorcycles, cars, and computers, so he could fix them.
Krzysztof grew up Roman Catholic and carried this throughout his life. He was very spiritual and passionate.
Krzysztof enrolled in a rehabilitation program, he wanted to help people. He always helped others, no matter what it was or who it was, even strangers. He wanted to be a police officer, but pursued other desires. He enjoyed his long time career as a truck driver, which he was very good at.
Krzysztof enjoyed Polish traditions. His favorite holiday was the Traditional Polish Christmas. He loved eating homemade soups, mainly, czerwony barszcz (red borscht). His favorite homemade pastries were sernik (cheesecake) and jablecznik (apple pie).
Krzysztof loved cars, working on cars, collecting cars (replicas), and playing with remote-controlled cars. He loved his car, it was his precious possession, his pride and joy. He loved gadgets, enjoyed having all sorts of electronics…phones, computers, tablets. He thoroughly enjoyed fixing things. He liked to cook. He had a black belt in Marshall Arts.
Krzysztof liked traveling. He enjoyed nature overall and loved to be near the water… sea, ocean, or a beach.
Krzysztof liked the actor Bruce Lee. Some of his favorite movies were Fast and Furious, Bad Boys, and old Polish movies like, Sami Swoi, Jak Rozpetalem II Wojne Swiatowa, and Wojna Domowa. He liked to watch and listen to Kabarety and Dowcipy… he liked to laugh (these are like comedy shows where people tell tons of jokes and funny stories made to make you laugh). Some of his favorite television shows were Family Matters, Animal Planet, How It’s Made, and National Geographic. He enjoyed listening to Modern Talking.
Krzysztof’s family and friends will fondly remember him as a man with a huge heart, willing to give without expecting anything in return. A man who was always willing to help anyone with anything, anytime. A man who was always willing to share. A man who loved children and animals. A Krzysztof saying that will be fondly looked back on, in family and friend’s memories will be what he would say anytime he didn’t know something, he repeatedly said, “nie mam zielonego pojecia.” (“I do not have a green idea.”)
