He accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age and became a member of Pilgrim Rest in Milford, Texas under the pastorage of his late grandfather, Reverend Samuel Franklin.
Kenneth began his education in Milford, Texas and later moved to Dallas. He graduated from James Madison High School in 1969 where he was the quarterback of the “Mighty Trojans” football team. He continued his education at Tyler Junior College. During this time, he met and later married Virginia Burdette Johnson. The two have been together for over 52 years and to this union, three children were born.
He was employed at General Motors Plant in Arlington, Texas where he retired after 32 years.
Kenneth leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Virginia Johnson; one son, Killion (Melinda) Johnson of Mesquite, TX; two daughters, Kennisha Johnson of Cedar Hill, TX and Kendrea Johnson of Waxahachie, TX; his mother, Erma Carson of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Tonia Jones of McKinney, TX and Nell (Eckel) Johnson of Arlington, TX; two brothers, Gerald (Audrey) Johnson and Jeffrey Johnson of Dallas, TX; brother-in-law, Howard Burdette of Cedar Hill, TX; five grandchildren, Ke’Ara Goldsmith and Jakira Britton of Waxahachie, TX; Jevon Johnson of Round Rock, TX; Jaren Johnson of Mesquite, TX and Jalen Johnson, who preceded him in death; two step-grandchildren, Erika Watson and Melanie Carrington of Mesquite, TX; one great granddaughter, Kamila Brown of Waxahachie, TX; two uncles, LaSalle (Elizabeth) Washington and Tommie Lee Washington of Dallas, TX; two aunts Joyce (Louis) Bell of Houston, TX and Raye Hedspeth of Austin, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
