My sweet mom, Katy Henry, was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was always there when we needed her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She sadly passed away on December 28, 2023 at the age of 95.
She was born on April 4, 1928 in Dallas, Texas at Hope Cottage. She was adopted by George and Pearl Adkins.
She married the love of her life on May 16, 1947 in a double wedding, which she said she would never do again! The double part, that is. She worked in the bookkeeping field until the birth of her daughter. She then became a homemaker until Pamela graduated from high school. After working a couple of bookkeeping positions for several years, she started a teacher supplies store called The Knowledge Nook which she thoroughly enjoyed for 10 years. She then retired to be with her husband and enjoy travelling across the country in their RV.
Katy leaves behind her husband, Irvin, one daughter, Pamela Struve, two grandchildren, Erynn McNeill and Brennen Bradley, and lastly, five great-grandchildren; Maddy, Hannah, and Ruth McNeill, and Thomas and Elizabeth Bradley.
Visitation to be held from 1:00 pm til 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225.
