Kathleen S. Reid

Kathleen “Katie” S. Reid. 61, of Dallas, TX, passed away April 9, 2022. She was born April 26, 1960, to James and Diane Streitz in Watertown, MN. She was a dedicated sales representative for 18 years and found comfort in volunteering to rock newborns in need.

Katie had two children, Sam and Sue. They have always been Katie’s greatest sources of joy. You could hear that when she shared details of Sam’s solo hiking adventures through the mountains of the western United States or Sue living and working abroad.

Katie was passionate about life and that included running, CrossFit and work, but particularly, family. It all started with Sam and Sue, but her love extended to encompass siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

For someone so tiny, Katie had a huge personality but didn’t want to be the center of attention. She loved to know about other people’s lives and what was important to them. Whether they were family or friends, Katie was true and loyal.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Streitz.

Katie is survived by her children, Sam Reid of Allen, Texas, Suzanne Reid of Dallas, TX; siblings, Suzanne Streitz of Chicago, IL, Steve Streitz of Hudson, Wisconsin, Gretchen Ziegler of Dallas, TX, Teresa O’Brien of Glen Ellyn, IL, and her mother, Diane Streitz of Woodbury, Minnesota.

Funeral Mass for Katie will be at 12:30 PM on Thursday, April 28, at St. Rita Catholic Church, located at 12521 Inwood Road, Dallas, TX 75244.
