Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Katherine Parish Redd passed away on December 17, 2016 at the age of 87. She was born in Dallas, Texas November 5, 1929 to Katherine Krum Parish and Alton Lee Parish. On March 28, 1947 she and Charles Redd were married and they celebrated their 66th anniversary in 2013. Charles passed away October 3, 2013. She was a Christian and attended the Methodist Church. Katherine retired after 27 years at Vought Corporation and spent her retirement as a porcelain dollmaker and teacher. She won top awards for her work including the Millie and the Golden Bell. She wrote articles for several doll makers’ magazines and a how-to book about making Santas. She loved to read, sew, cook, work on genealogy, write, and was never, ever, bored. She said she needed a second lifetime to finish all the projects in her head.
