Katharine Durham Pollard was born December 28, 1951 in Marshall, TX to the parentage of W.C. Durham and Jennie V. Thompson Durham. Both parents preceded her in death. She was a devout Christian, actively attended and worshiped at Christian World Church in Richardson, TX. After a short illness, the angel of eternity came for Katharine on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Medical City of Dallas.
At an early age Katharine entered the workforce and ultimately worked for Custom Chenille Embroidery for the last 35 years. She united in marriage to Jimmye Pollard in 1994 and celebrated 27 years of marriage.
Katharine was a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, and mother figure to many. She absolutely adored her family, and nothing meant more to her than spending time with family and friends. She is survived by: Husband - Jimmye Pollard, Dallas, TX; Daughters - Alicia Davis and Stephanie Meckling; Grandchildren - Ciara Ford, Miles Meckling and Miya Meckling.
Katharine was affectionately called ‘Doll’ to her family and was one of 13 children. Five siblings preceded her in death (R. L. Durham, James E. Durham, Ruby Oliver, Thelma Jones, and Lola Marsh). She leaves to cherish five sisters and two brothers: Gloria Jackson (Melvin) of Dallas, TX; Mabel Flowers (James), Doretha Flowers (Johnny), Frances Weber of Marshall, TX; Guquito Bollin (Ray) of Cedar Hill, TX; W.C. Durham (Patricia) of Ft. Worth, TX, and William Durham (Tonya) of Dallas, TX. In addition, she leaves a host Nieces, Nephews, and other friends & family.
