Kasey Don Lewis, 21, was born April 25, 1999, and passed away on April 11, 2021. Kasey had not fully recovered from an injury he received in February 2021. Kasey graduated from Seagoville High School in 2017 in Seagoville, Texas. Kasey tried a semester of Eastfield Community College. He quickly decided college was not for everyone including himself at this time. With that said he never stopped learning as he moved on into the college of life. He chose to study and learn about subjects that mattered to him by living them. Family and friends were often surprised and amazed at the things he knew well and did well. In formal education Kasey was an average student. In life, learning to live and demonstrating for others the process of how to live life better than well, he achieved top of the class. Kasey was advised growing up that everyone will not like you, but you should always try to be the best you possible. There were a few times when he got the best of his daddy simply saying, “You told me to be me.” Period. Kasey was an intellectual and inspirational artist at being Kasey.
Kasey has a Texas size smile and a love even bigger, better, and deeper than that. He did not hesitate to share them with anyone or anything he found in need. Often, he was what was needed when it was needed. Kasey lived a life without a lot of fear. He stepped in to face the challenge from his aspirations to be a standup comedian to the incident in February of this year, and any challenges in between. Kasey had a super sense of humor. He would use it to make a connection. Once connected he would share that smile and love with you so that you knew he was here to stand with you through whatever. He is doing Kasey. And nobody does Kasey better!!!!
Growing up Kasey was encouraged to find something in life that he wanted to do and do it purposefully and passionately. Kasey loved being outdoors. He enjoyed working with animals, especially livestock. He was a ranch-hand, conducted trail rides, and worked with livestock at the State Fair of Texas and the Fort Worth Livestock Show. He was a hunter and fisherman. Kasey was a firearm enthusiast. He sometimes worked gun shows on the weekends in the Dallas area. He enjoyed assisting people in the purchase of a firearm that matched the buyer’s needs. Kasey was an aspiring comedian and had performed at various venues in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Kasey was an avid gamer especially late at night as he could be heard yelling at his competition. He was not bashful about demonstrating his knowledge of firearms by providing his father a tutorial from Guns for Dummies. Kasey was always happiest when sharing the activities, he enjoyed with family and friends. Kasey knows how to do Kasey!!!!
Kasey was hard living, hard charging, and easy smiling cowboy riding tall in the saddle. Left to treasure his backtrail is his father, Rickey, his mother, Linda, his brother, Korey, his sisters, LaFarrah, Kortney and Kiara, his nieces, Amora and Ameris, other extended family members, and countless friends and acquaintances he touched in only that way he could. Kasey doing Kasey!!!!
