June Anne Bryant passed on the morning of August 1, 2023 with family by her side. Her beautiful light continues to shine in the eyes of her loved ones who remember her working daily to help family, friends, neighbors, and the wonderful array of animals that share our planet.
Following rigorous scholastic endeavors including a Bachelor of Science degree and Master’s degree in Pure Mathematics, Anne taught school for a number of years in DISD. She left school teaching for an engineering career at Texas Instruments. One of the milestones of her career was managing the team that designed and developed the first defense-oriented Global Positioning System. In short, Anne navigated a profession and environment primarily closed to women, particularly in management, to become recognized as a brilliant trailblazer with boundless energy and ambition for her work.
Even with all her professional responsibilities, Anne was a devout student of Christian Science and spent hours each week studying the Bible. Daily conscientious study and prayer enabled her to overcome many of life’s challenges. For many years the Rocky Mountains of Colorado beckoned her for an annual visit of spiritual renewal. She took great pleasure in enriching the lives of others and supporting and encouraging earlier generations of her family.
Anne is survived by her partner of many years, Judith Marie Lirette of Dallas TX; by two sisters: Nellie Eugenia (Gene) Adams of Dallas, TX and Charlotte May Whitney of Whitney TX; two brothers: Joseph Demetrious Whitney and wife Cynthia of Dallas TX and Joseph (Little Joe) Whitney and wife Kathleen of Fort Worth TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
“Well done, good and faithful servant;” Matthew 25:21.
