Julio Cesar Martinez, age 53, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Julio was born December 1, 1967, to Sanjuana Rocha and Roberto Martinez. He was a loving husband and equally dedicated father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Beatrice D. Martinez, and his children, Juliano, Amanda, Thomas, and Juztin as well as his grandsons, Gabriel and Josiah. Though he has left this world behind, his memories live on through his extended family and friends. He leaves behind his father and his siblings, Anita, Emma, Raquel, Roberto Jr, Marisela, Araceli, and Esmeralda, along with his many nieces and nephews. He leaves behind several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law who will never forget his awesome love for them.
Julio, better known as JC, loved to spend time with his family whether it was weekend dinners or hanging out by a bonfire cracking jokes and telling true-life stories. He worked in various fields such as a Licensed Electrician, Licensed Loan Officer during his lifetime but loved being a Detention Officer for Ellis County Sheriff's Department at the Wayne McCollum Detention Center. There he ministered and shared his true love for Christ with his own testimonies of love, grace, and mercy to the inmates, co-workers, and anyone God put in his path to witness to.
JC was not a one-dimensional man. He was a people person and a jokester. He worked hard and loved doing projects for his wife with the help of his sons. During his downtime, JC was an avid writer and left behind many short stories. He never got to complete his final novel. According to his kids, their dad was a self-proclaimed professional chef but at best an amateur cook. He leaves behind multiple handwritten recipes and savory memories of his most prized smoked brisket and ribs. Aside from dabbling in cooking, he loved riding his horses with family and friends. JC loved opening his home to guests for bible study and rejoiced when friends received salvation. He was a friend to all and gave advice to many. He will always be missed and never forgotten. His presence, his laughter, and especially his unconditional love for his family and friends will be deeply missed forever.
We will see you again with our Lord, Jesus Christ, in eternity!
