Dunn, Julie Ann, loving wife, mother, grandmother, nurse and friend, peacefully passed from this life to her Heavenly reward on July 27th, 2012. Julie was born on January 10, 1933, in Tousist, Ireland. Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Jeremiah and Bridget O’Shea, and her sister, Rita, and brother, John. Julie completes her journey to Heaven to join her loving husband, Edward, tragically taken from life by an automobile accident in 1969. Julie is survived by her sister, Agnes, and her brothers, Pat, Tim and Michael, her sons, Gerald and his wife, Michele, Glenn, and Jim and his wife Shazell, and 6 grandchildren, Connor, Patrick, Julianne, Max, Mason and Jenna. Julie was a woman of great faith and determination, who had a passionate mother’s love for her family. After the death of Edward, Julie, left to rear her 3 young children as a single mother, never complained, but simply put her trust in God. She gave her children the love only Irish mothers can give. Julie then returned to school, studied and became a pediatric ICU nurse. Her boundless love for her own family spread to “her” babies in the ICU unit. For over 30 years Julie brought an Irish mother’s love to desperately ill children. Julie met her final challenge like she met every other challenge in her life. Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, Julie responded with the grace, courage, dignity and faith that defined her life. Julie taught all her knew her how to live and, ultimately, how to die. A visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm, Wednesday August 1st, 2012, with recitation of the Most Holy Rosary to begin at 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, August 2, 2012, at St. Rita Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery. Julie asked that in lieu of flowers, remembrances be made to Planned Living Assistance Network of North Texas at 13151 Emily Rd. Suite 240 Dallas, Texas 75240. Erin go braugh.
