Juana Rosa Torrez

Juana Rosa Torrez was born May 8, 1938 to Ernesto Herrera and Maria de Jesus Diaz in Fresnillo, Zachatecas. She transitioned to her eternal home with her Lord and Savior on August 4, 2021 surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband Victor Torrez, Sr.; brothers Bernabè Herrera and Jesse Herrera; sister Juana Manuela Yrlas; son-in-law Jerry Savala and grandson George-Michael Guzman.

She is survived by her siblings, Cruz Vega, Johnny Herrera, Joe Herrera, Mary Garcia, Alice Bernal and Mona Loera. Her children, Angie Savala, Sylvia Torrez, Samuel Torrez, Esther Woodson, Becky Puls, Annie Torrez, David Torrez, Victor Torrez, Jr. Josue Torrez, Steve Torrez, Juanita Olalde, Elias Torrez, Bernabè Torrez, Jesse Torrez and Belinda Brailsford. Her daughters-in-law; Robin Torrez, Dalia Torrez, Alma Torrez and Rosa Maria Torrez. Her sons-in-law; Bobby Woodson, Kirk Puls, Alexandro Olalde and Adam Brailsford. Her twenty-eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Rosa enjoyed reading, needle point, coloring, collecting food recipes, cooking for her family and gardening. She enjoyed the outdoors and caring for variety of animals.

Rosa received and an award with Avancè for her work with special needs children. She received a diploma in her studies of the Book of Revelation and was elected church secretary of Iglesia Getsemani in Matamoros, Mexico. She loved reading her Bible, always ready to pray for family and friends. Some of her favorite cantos/worship songs were “Santo, Santo, Santo; Por la Mañana; Divino Compañero del Camino and How Great Thou Art”.

Rosa and Victor Sr. founded Iglesia El Paraíso in Dallas Texas. The church is currently being pastored by their eldest son Samuel Torrez. Throughout her years, she supported many missionaries in the United States and Mexico. Through her many years of ministry, she led many to the saving grace of Jesus. Today, we honor her life and are eternally grateful for the legacy of Juana Rosa Torrez.
