Juan Antonio Salazar, Jr. was born on March 14th, 1964 in Dallas to Juan Antonio Salazar, Sr. and Maria Cristina Gonzalez. He passed away on Saturday, March 19th, 2016 and went to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness at the age of 52. Juan attended Sunset High School and graduated in 1982. He married Imelda Gonzalez and raised his family in the Farmers Branch area of Dallas. He was a dedicated family man who was devoted to his wife and children. Juan worked in Information Technology over 34 years (Republic Bank Dallas, Lone Star Insurance and recently CSC). At a very young age, he was fascinated with cars and trucks. He developed a great passion for working on cars in his spare time and helping anyone that needed help with their vehicles. He was a gifted mechanic and handy man that could fix anything or would find someone who could. He loved helping people. Everyone that met him, loved him. He was fun loving and loved to make people laugh. Juan was known for having a big heart and a beautiful soul! He is survived by his wife, Imelda Salazar, of Dallas; daughter, Melissa Salazar-Boggs and son-in-law Phillip Boggs of Lubbock; son, Robert Salazar of Dallas; grandson, Phillip James Boggs Jr. of Lubbock; mother, Maria Cristina Gonzalez of Dallas; and sisters, Diana Elizabeth Salazar of Roanoke; Leticia Visitacion of Mansfield; Elda Sarmiento of Mansfield; uncle, Leopoldo Gonzalez of Dallas; aunt, Dora Elia Arrieta of Dallas; nieces, Valerie Salazar-Russell of Euless; and Kristina Rodriguez of Fort Worth among many other relatives including cousins, nieces, nephews and a long list of friends that he loved very much. He is preceded in death by Juan Antonio Salazar, Sr., father; Margarito Salazar, paternal grandfather; Eulalia Salazar, paternal grandmother; Maria de los Angeles Salazar, sister; John Anthony Salazar, Jr., brother; Leopoldo Gonzalez, Sr., maternal grandfather; Socorro Gonzalez, maternal grandmother; Maura Elena Gonzalez, cousin; Santos Montelongo, aunt. The family would like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Derrick Nguyen and the medical staff at Medical Center of Arlington for all their personal care and family support over the last couple of years. We are thankful for all the extra time we were able to spend with our loved one. This would not have been possible without your constant care and concern for his well-being and that of our family situation. We are most thankful to God for blessing us with Juan's life for 52 years. He will be greatly missed and his memory will live on in our hearts forever. Rosary will be at held from 6 - 8 PM on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016 at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 12 Noon on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016 at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel followed by a Christian Burial at Laurel Land Cemetery.
