Juan Chavez was born on February 28, 1954, in McAllen, Texas; he passed peacefully on August 13, 2022 at the age of 68 in Dallas Texas. He was born to Jesus Chavez and Consuelo Flores Parra. Juan was raised in Torreón Coahuila until the age of 17, when he came to the United States. He married the love of his life, Maria Mercedes Aguilar in 1978 and was blessed with his daughter, Ana C. and his son, Juan C. Chavez.
Juan is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Chavez and Consuelo Flores Parra; his brothers, Santos and Pedro Chavez.
Juan is survived by his loving wife, Maria Mercedes Aguilar de Chavez, his daughter, Ana Ipina and husband, Albert R. Ipina; his son, Juan C. Chavez; his grandchildren, Albert R. Ipina, Michael A. Ipina and Litzy N. Chavez. His sisters, M. Anita Chavez, M. Guadalupe Chavez, Elvira J. Chavez and Reyna A. Chavez.
Juan worked as an interior construction specialist at various hotels in Dallas for more than 25 years. In his spare time, Juan enjoyed watching his favorite game shows, “The Price is Right, Let’s Make a Deal” and listening to music. He will forever be remembered as a person with an enormous heart, open and giving to everyone he met. His funny, happy way of being especially when he was a jokester will remain with us always. Family and friends will remember him as a “Very funny, happy and a great story telling person”. Juan had several nieces and nephews that loved him very much.

A Juan le sobreviven su amada esposa, María Mercedes Aguilar de Chávez, su hija, Ana Ipina y su esposo, Albert R. Ipina; su hijo, Juan C. Chávez; sus nietos, Albert R. Ipina, Michael A. Ipina y Litzy N. Chavez. Sus hermanas, M. Anita Chavez, M. Guadalupe Chavez, Elvira J. Chavez y Reyna A. Chavez.
Juan trabajó como especialista en construcción de interiores en varios hoteles de Dallas durante más de 25 años. En su tiempo libre, Juan disfrutaba viendo sus programas de juegos favoritos, “The Price Is Right and Let's Make A Deal” y escuchando música. Juan siempre será recordado como una persona con un corazón enorme, abierto y generoso con todos los que conoció. Su manera divertida y alegre de ser, especialmente cuando era un bromista, permanecerá con nosotros para siempre. La familia y los amigos lo recordarán como una “persona muy divertida, feliz y une gran narradora de historias”. Juan tenía varias sobrinas y sobrinos que lo querían mucho.
