Joyce Myrtle White

Joyce was called home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ, at 4:20am on February 13, 2021. Joyce was born to Elijah & Grace McHone, February 28, 1926, in Trenton, Texas. Her first eighteen years were spent working on the family farm, going to church and school. After high school graduation she left her home town for Dallas and went to work at Sears Roebuck & Co. A couple of years later she met the love of her life, Grover Bill White Jr., from friends at church. Bill had been overseas in the military and had recently come back to the states. Bill and Joyce married on November 15, 1946, and started their family. Joyce had four girls and two boys and was a stay at home mom until Bill became ill, when she went to work at Baylor Hospital. During her twenty one years at Baylor she lost Bill, after thirty five years of marriage on November 8, 1981, and had ten grandchildren. Retired from Baylor in 1993 and lost her oldest son Larry Mac, November 12, 2012. As of the time she left this earth, she had sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

In her 50th year high school reunion book she wrote "I've had a pretty nice life. Worked hard, been ill a lot, 7 operations & 6 babies. Have taken care of many in the family with serious illness and sill being a nurse maid. I've always wanted to be there for anyone less fortunate than I."
