Mr. Joseph M. Merola, age 91, of Garland, Texas passed away on Thursday June 27, 2019. Joseph was born September 28, 1927 in Providence, Rhode Island to the parentage of Angelo and Carmela Merola. Joseph was a long time resident of Dallas, Texas and business owner of Merola's Auto Sales at 932 E. Jefferson Blvd Dallas, Texas for 30 years. Joseph was the past president and former member of the Dallas Automobile Dealer Association in the 1980s. He loved all outdoor activities and spending time with family. Joseph was a veteran of the United States Army where he served from 1946-1947.
Joseph is preceded in death by both of his parents, Angelo and Carmela Merola; his beloved wife of 63 years, Bonnie Merola and several other relatives. Joseph leaves to cherish his memories: his son, Michael J. Merola; two grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
A visitation for Joseph will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232.
