Jose “Joe” Albino Soto departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories on December 22, 2023, in Carrollton, Texas after a lengthy battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was a much-loved husband, dad, Gramps, son, brother, uncle, and a friend to many. Joe was a hard worker, had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious personality.
Joe deeply missed his parents Albino and Esperanza, and his brothers Alfredo and Jesus Soto, who he now joins in eternal rest.
Joe leaves behind his wife Rosanna of 49 years, proud father/father-in-law to son Joseph and wife Kim, daughter Kristiana Triste’ and husband Paul Morones. His heart overflowed with love for his grandchildren, Joshua, Samantha, Zachary, Alexa, and Mallory who brought immense joy into his life. He was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Bella, Liam, and Rylan. Joe's love for family also extended to his mother-in-law Dolores Cantu; sisters, Aurora Soto de Law, Ana Jimenez and brother-in-law Raymond, brother-in-law John Cantu and wife Amy, sister-in-law Carol Cantu; nephews Travis Hunt, John Hunt and wife Lindsey, Guadalupe Law, Michael Jimenez, Alex Jimenez, Christopher (Chris) Jimenez, Alejandro Cantu; nieces Michelle Bozas and husband Sebastian, Dolores Ordaz, Celina Russell and husband Robert, and Rebecca Morrison; and numerous great-nephews and nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Joe was born on September 9, 1952, in San Benito, Texas, eventually moving to Dallas with his family. He graduated from Skyline High School and went directly out into the workforce. Throughout his career, he served with dedication at the United States Postal Service, Lucent Technology, AT&T, and Western Electric leaving an indelible mark as a maintenance mechanic and master electrician.
Joe loved to travel, specifically road trips to anywhere, especially New Mexico, Colorado, and the Colorado River. He cherished the beach and ocean, in particular Grand Cayman. Joe relished watching scary movies and Goosebumps with his grandkids. He was a novice videographer who loved to commemorate daily and celebratory events. Playing and sledding in the snow with the grandkids gave him so much joy, he would even drive to find it sometimes during the winter. Then there is the game of baseball which was not just a game to him; it was a passion that he shared with enthusiasm with his kids and grandkids. Known for his warm spirit and laughter, Joe relished moments with his family, creating lasting memories during many vacations and gatherings. He loved to be spontaneous and truly had a youthful outlook about life.
As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Joe Soto for the love he shared, the joy he brought, and the memories that will live on in our hearts and endure beyond his physical presence. May he rest in peace in Our Lord’s everlasting home.
A memorial service for Joe will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, Texas, 75225.
