Jose G Martinez

Jose Martinez entered eternal rest on February 4, 2024. He was born on April 5, 1931 to Ignacio and Julia Martinez in Dallas, TX. Jose was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. He enjoyed playing pool, yard work and was a part time driver for Ms. Josie and Ms. Julianna. Jose received a plaque for 50 years of service with Tom Thumb Grocery. He was a Produce Manager and retired after 57 years of service. He also served his country for two years in the Army. His favorite things were watching The Dallas Cowboys and The World Series Winning Texas Rangers as well as spending time with his family, going out to eat with friends and spending time with his family pets, Roxie and Akame. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Henry Martinez; sisters, Frances M. Camacho and Petra Pavia; brothers in law, Gilberto Pavia and Herbert Rizk and granddaughter, Erica Nicole Hernandez. Jose is survived by his wife, Virginia, son, Thomas J Martinez (Gabriela); daughters, Sylvia Simon (Lester), Yolanda Martinez, Josephine Martinez, Margaret Ann Puente (Gilbert); sister, Dora Rizk; great granddaughter, Julianna Marie Hernandez, seven grandchildren, nine other great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. His Visitation will be held on February 19, 2024 from 10 – 11 am with his Funeral Service to begin at 11 am at Calvary Hill Funeral Home.
