John was born on June 9, 1954 at St Paul hospital in Dallas, TX; and passed away on June 18, 2013 at the same hospital. John’s family was from east Texas, where as a child he spent many summers, and loved the piney woods. He graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1972. He immediately went to work at DeGolyer & MacNaughton where he found his calling as a pressman. After a brief stint in Houston, he found his way back home and went to work for Arthur Anderson & Company where he would spend the majority of his career. In 1982, John met his best friend Sharon, whom he would marry just four years later. John’s philosophy in life was “(his) way, or the highway”. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan whom to this day does not like Jerry Jones. John enjoyed playing pool, throwing darts, and spending time with his grandkids. You would often hear “Uncle John” or “poppy” do the duck, and Donald duck would visit for a while. He was fond of both country and western music. His love of animals was only surpassed by the love for his wife Sharon. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sharon; his mother Sue, Sister Penny, Brother-in- law Bobby and sister-in-law Cindy, one daughter, five nephews, three nieces, three grandkids, and numerous “framily” members (you know who you are).
