John Thomas Tanner, 94, of Dallas, TX, passed away on October 31, 2019 He was born in Dallas , Texas on January 23, 1925.
John graduated from Southern Methodist University and received civil engineering from SMU. He was married to Shirley Jean Tanner. John had a career in construction, and owned his own business - John T. Tanner Construction Company. He was a member of Associated General Contractors and Hella Shrine. John had a passion for fishing, life, and people .
He is survived by his son, Bruce Thomas Tanner; daughter, Vicki Tanner Detro; grandchildren, Kari Lynn Winders, Jennifer Tanner, Lindsay McClelland, Kelly Teel, Ben Tanner, Michael Jon Detro, and Tanner Lynn Detro.
