John Talmadge Prunty, 82, passed away March 18, 2017 in Rockwall, Texas. He was born September 23, 1934 in New Martinsville, West Virginia to Wesley and Rachel Prunty. John loved horse racing, square dancing and round dancing. He also loved watching sports, playing cards, singing in the Metropolitan Tabernacle and was the biggest supporter of his family. John was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Lawrence and James. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marguerite Prunty; children, John Timothy Prunty and wife, Linda; Melissa Dawn Wilson and husband, Michael and Christopher Todd Prunty; grandchildren, Keri, John T., Elisabeth, Bobby, J.T., Michael Jr., Matthew and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Traevon, Aiden and Gabriel and brother, Robert Prunty and wife Phyllis. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 6-8pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Services will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 2pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home with interment to follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
