I will never forget how Brother Kershaw used to say  at the little church on Beltline Rd ( Where I was baptized) how God could give us more space if we served our Lord and we needed a bigger church.
I moved to WV and when I visited Richardson years later I went by the Church and I believe it had become a Chinese church or something. After riding around looking at what changed I was going down Abrams Rd an low and behold, Christian World Church and Pastor John Kershaw was on the sign I believe ! He was right, God blessed the Church. I went there and Brother Kershaw remembered me and what a great service we had. I will always be grateful to our Lord Jesus for pointing me to the little church on Beltline Rd and to Brother Kershaw. Love you Brother, Till we meet again in glory. Praise the lamb of God.

Sister Kershaw, John, and Susan, I send my sincere condolences to you for the loss of your husband and father. Bro Kershaw will always hold a special place in my and my family's hearts. He was my first memory of a pastor when we moved to Richardson, Texas. I still remember the wonderful, spirit filled services we had back when the church was on Beltline Rd. I love Bro. Kershaw dearly, and he will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Sis Condrey and family wish to extend our deepest sympathy to Sis Kershaw and Susan and John for their loss. We had the honor of attending Bro Kershaws' church for quite a few years. He was a wonderful pastor and friend. God bless the Kershaw family.

Bro. Kershaw was my Pastor in Richardson Texas, I was a teenager, had backslid at one time, but Bro. Kershaw never treated me as if I was worthless, he told me once..."if I come back to the God, the Lord will give me back my youth" he loved people, and he was a great example of being like Jesus...we must love one another..and that he did very well...I love you Bro. Where do I start...my first pastor...his loving family....I was young but I remember so very much about all of you. I can still recall so many of his sermons...his being there when my brother Tommy was killed...at my wedding...he and Sis. Kershaw came...still means the world to me. Thank you Pastor Kershaw for giving your all...all of the time. My prayers are with you Sis. Kershaw...Susan and Steve...much love!

This space isn't large enough to tell you all the wonderful things about Pastor Kershaw. How my life changed when I walked into the First UPC on Beltline Road, little did I know I had found my home. I was fortunate to have had the privileged of sitting under his ministry for 25 years and I will never forget, because my life was forever changed. Pastor Kershaw was an exceptional pastor & wonderful person. 
As he would always sometimes say "We serve a big God and he is more than able to do all that we could ever ask or think". 

May the Great Comforter keep you in the palm of his hand during this difficult time.

Bro. Kershaw was my Pastor in Lubbock Texas.  He was a phonimal preacher/pastor.  I was previaleged to visit with him in his home 2 years ago.  I had not seen him for many years.  The visit was so sweet.  I love the Kershsw family and my prayers are with you all.

Rev. John Kershaw was a pastor who was anointed and gifted beyond measure.  He was unique and brought a depth to his sermons that was never redundant, boring, or trite!  He married the perfect woman to stand by his side. I was privileged to have known this family. There should be more people in the world like this.

Heroes are not sports stars, incredible actors, or superbly gifted singers,even though in our world of instant communication and media coverage one could not be blamed for buying into that myth. Real heroes are those who follow their calling through the challenges that life brings. Real heroes get up every day and "take up the cross," bearing their scars as testament. Real heroes are not selfish, always willing to share their lives by example and by mentorship. I have lost just such a hero, but I pray that because of his life of service that perhaps in time I may be worthy of a similar eulogy.
