I was so saddened to hear of John's passing.  He and Cynthia Shoptaw and I were best friends in home room at J L Long Jr High.  We called ourselves The Three Musketeers.  I have such fond memories of John.  He will be missed by all of his classmates from Long and Woodrow.  It was a privilege to call him my friend.

John will be missed greatly.  I too was born into the Cradle Roll of East Dallas Christian Church and have so many fond memories as I grew up with John.  My twin sister I were the "little sisters" who followed along with John, and his friends, my brother Charles Teagarden and Jimmy Welch and others. His love of God, his church and family were so evident, as exampled and lived by his parents before him.  Marilyn and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

John Hearne was a good man, and that was because he also had good parents! My relationship was with him as Minister of Pastoral Care for 16+ years at East Dallas Christian Church.
He was blessed with a meaningful career, loving wife, great children, and a faith-community-congregation where he served faithfully in many capacities. Yes, he will be greatly missed from our midst. However, the pain of sorrow will ultimately be overcome with the joy of happiness as the personal memories that his family and friends have of him will remain to both challenge them and to energize their lives. He has defeated the last emeny called Death, and has now received the Crown of Life Eternal. Thanks be to God! May God's Love and Peace be with all of you.  Sincerely,

As you grieve during this difficult time, may the Lord wrap his arms around you and comfort you during the days ahead. I will cherish the memories of working with John as a school counselor. My prayers are with you and your family.

There are still those of us who grew up with John and remember him as a classmate at Mt Auburn Elementary, JL Long Jr High and Woodrow Wilson High School.  There was then, and still is, a certain bond among all of us that makes his passing very personal.  We offer our condolences, sympathy and prayers for his family.  We also offer our prayers for John on his journey to heaven.

I was saddened to learn of John's passing. He was one of my favorite people when I attended EDCC and I thought very highly of him. I have been sending good thoughts his way and will continue to hold his family, church family, and friends in my prayers.
