Joe Cedillo was born on October 5, 1937 in Dallas, Texas. He was born to parents, Ponciano Sedillo and Maria Ramirez Lopez. He was a twin and the 8th child born in a family of 11. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Juanita Rios Cedillo. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters and his daughter, Rosanna Gonzalez (David). He is survived by his children Mary Jane Delgado (Ralph), Anna Orozco (Gilbert), Joe Albert Cedillo (Blanca), John Paul Cedillo, and Michael Cedillo (Debbie). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren with 1 on the way. Known as Chepito, he grew up on Herbert Street in a neighborhood known as the “barrio” of West Dallas where he played football. He never graduated from High school but quickly went to work to support his family. He had a variety of jobs but built a career at Taylor Publishing Co. He owned a business called JC Videorama, and after a long time of working, he finally retired to spend time with his wife and children. An amateur golfer in his younger days, his past time was spent playing the guitar and harmonica at the many family functions. He also loved taking videos of the family and watching movies. He enjoyed watching his family grow and being the “Popo” that the grandchildren could count on for candy. He was the patriarch of his family and will be dearly missed.
