Jody Elizabeth Martin, age 56, passed into the arms of Jesus on June 7, 2023 in Plano, Texas. Born on December 1, 1966, in Rochester, New York to Charles and Ellen Martin, Jody was brought up in Dallas, Texas, and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1989. Jody had a successful career in the restaurant industry, dedicating almost 18 years of her professional life to Rudy’s Bar-B-Q.
In her free time, Jody cherished moments with her family, particularly her six nieces and nephews, whom she very much adored. She took great joy in spoiling them, along with her five great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jody will be forever remembered by her family and friends as a devoted and faithful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a benevolent spirit, generously sharing her time and love without expecting anything in return. Her kindness was evident to all as she could light up a room with her infectious smile and uplifting spirit. Embracing family traditions as her mother once did, Jody had a special love for the holidays and made sure they were extravagantly celebrated to the fullest extent.
At Rudy’s Bar-B-Q, Jody served as the Director of Training. Her passion for her work and commitment to training excellence significantly contributes to Rudy’s ongoing success and will continue to impact the company for years to come. Held in the highest esteem, the entire Rudy’s family deeply loved and respected her. Her life and legacy, so full of significance, will forever resonate with all who were lucky enough to know and love her.
