JoAnn (Myers) Call

JoAnn Myers Call, 89, passed away on December 19, 2022 in Sachse, TX. She was born on September 15, 1933 in Dallas, TX to Floyd Lewis and Jessie Louise Myers. JoAnn was raised in Dallas, TX and graduated from the University of North Texas in 1955 with a BS in Elementary Education.

She married Paul David Call on January 17, 1959 and the couple had 4 children. She was an elementary schoolteacher at several districts but mostly at Richardson ISD, where she worked for more than 25 years. In her spare time, JoAnn enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafts, playing games and traveling. She also loved attending her children’s and grandchildren’s extracurricular activities and participating in as many family and church activities as she was able. She played a huge role in volunteer activities at St Matthews Cathedral where she was married and attended for over 40 years.

JoAnn’s family and friends will always remember her as a happy, funny, positive, and caring individual who would do anything for anyone and loved everyone.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul David Call and her son, Charles Timothy Call.

Joann is survived by three children and their spouses: David Christopher Call, his wife Jana Lynn Call, Michael Craig Call, his wife Maricris Call, Carole Louann Ticer, her husband William Edward Ticer; eight grandchildren and spouses: Hailee Dianne Bisel, her husband Christian Clarke, John Edward Ticer, his wife Rachael Ann Ticer, Kimberlee Ann Ramirez, her husband Carlos Alfredo Ramirez, Joshua David Ticer, Heather Christianna Call, Shayla Fitzsimmons-Call, David Shane Fitzsimmons-Call, Thomas Jag Fitzsimmons-Call; three great grandchildren: Harvey Dean Clarke, Amelia Sophia Ramirez and Isabelle Grace Ramirez.

A visitation for JoAnn will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, located at 3920 Samuell Blvd., Dallas, TX 75228.

The funeral service will occur on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 11 AM at at St. Matthew's Cathedral, 5100 Ross Ave, Dallas, TX 75206.

A committal service will occur Friday, January 6, 2023 at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.

A light catered reception for family and friends of JoAnn will occur Friday, January 6, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Maple Venue of the funeral home.
