Jimmy Ray Loftis, age 78, slipped away into the waiting arms of Jesus on Thursday, August 11, 2016, after a brief battle with cancer. Jim was born on October 6, 1937 in Dallas, TX, son of Morris Guy Loftis and Doyle Fay Hudgins Loftis. He married Carrie Frances Wagliardo on February 3, 1962. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 54 years and by niece and husband, Donna and Tom Hacholski of Rockwall, TX, and nephew and wife, Ronnie and Karen Sanders and their children of Euless, TX, along with other relatives and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents and sister, Betty Sanders Highnote.
Jim was a proud Woodrow Wilson Wildcat and his military service was with the U.S. Coast Guard. His working career was with Southwest Airmotive, Penn Controls, and Johnson Controls.
Jim was an active member of First Assembly of God in Dallas, TX for over 50 years. One of his passions was music, especially Southern Gospel Music, both singing and listening. He sang with “Cecil Pollock and The Watchmen” and several other local groups. Another passion was traveling. He and Carrie were privileged to enjoy visiting all seven continents and over 70 countries.
Visitation will be Monday, August 15 from 6-8PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, August 16 at 1PM at First Assembly of God, 11000 E. NW Hwy., Dallas 75238 214-341-0700, with Rev. R. Daniel Enriquez officiating. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
