Jimmie L. Webb, 69, of Dallas, TX died peacefully on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a dear friend to all that knew and loved her.
She was born on November 11, 1942 in Rosedale, Oklahoma to Lester and Martha Washington Harbin McGowen. Jimmie grew up in Norman, Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma Baptist University and the University of Oklahoma. She had an enjoyable wit and loved being with friends. Jimmie had an impeccable sense of style, especially her shoes and handbags. With considerable patience, she tolerated Bob’s bird dogs. Travel was a special part of her memories. Jimmie loved learning her entire life. She greatly enjoyed competition, especially card and domino games, and was a great party planner. Jimmie loved the creativity of floral design and became an accredited flower show judge. She traveled for her sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta, doing chapter extension and other activities.
After moving to Dallas after college in 1964, Jimmie and Bob were members of Scofield Memorial Church and involved in its activities. They made many lifelong friends from Scofield from those early days. Jimmie was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church at her passing. Her faith in Jesus Christ was foundational to the way she lived her life.
She was President of many clubs and organizations including Dallas Alumnae PanHellenic and the Dallas Alumnae Club of Alpha Gamma Delta; Dallas Knife & Fork Club, Dallas Theater Center Guild, Trippers Club, and Kermis Club. Jimmie was also a member of DAR, Dallas Dinner Dance Club, Thalia Club, Argyle Club, Diggers and Designers Garden Club, Couples Book Club, Browning Club and Matheon Club.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years Robert J. Webb of Dallas, TX; children, Rob and David and his wife Carol and granddaughter Charlotte; sister Judith Hammer and her husband Keith. She was preceded in death by her mother in 2007 and her father who died at the Battle of the Bulge in WWII in 1944.

A Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, 8710 N.
