Jessie Nell Walker Boyd was born on January 31, 1943, in Ringgold, Louisiana, to the lineage of the late Carl B. Walker and Willa Mae Walker. She was the third of six children born to this union.
Jessie attended Ringgold High School. During a family visit to Dallas, Texas, Jessie met Solomon T. Boyd, Sr., from Grand Cane, Louisiana. It was love at first sight! Their relationship quickly evolved into holy matrimony with a lasting love of 53 years. She was blessed with four children, Rickey Murray (Corlis), Bonnie Sue Mack (Levon), Solomon T. Boyd, Jr. & Shelia Jackson (Andrew).
While working as a Manufacturing Supervisor with Lucent Technologies, Jessie completed her Bachelor of Applied Business Administration degree from Dallas Baptist University on December 15, 1995. She was promoted into Management and maintained a successful career before retirement.
Affectionately known as “Sis. Boyd”, she faithfully served beside her husband, the late Pastor Boyd, at Christ Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, founding the Rappers-4-Christ and the Inmate Communication Ministry. She loved her church family, now pastored by Elder Weldon E. Harris, and they adored her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha Nell Randall (sister), Johnnie Ray Walker (brother) and Christopher Michael Lundy (grandson).
She leaves to cherish her wonderful spirit: her children; sisters, Willa Louise Monroe & Lew Audry Dunn; brother, Bishop B.R. Walker; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A private graveside service for the immediate family only will take place at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date. The Boyd family solicits your prayers during this time of bereavement.
