Jesse Paredez Martinez Jr., born to his parents Mary Louise Rodriguez and Jesse Paredes Martinez, was a man with a heart of gold and a light in his smile and eyes. He was a gift bestowed to us on earth on the date of October 23, 1975 and called upon to the Lord’s kingdom on July 19, 2017 where he will join his sister, Diana Martinez; father, Jesse Paredes Martinez and his grandfather, Jesse G Martinez. For those that are not aware his father was a musician and probably met his son playing a tune from his favorite group MAZZ.
Jesse Martinez was born in Dallas, Texas and led a full life with his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Mary Louis and his “Daddy”, Humberto Cabrera whom he loved, cherished and adored. His memories will also be cherished by the love of his life, his wife Maria Cervantes. Siblings left behind are two sisters, Victoria Rodriguez and Mary Jessie Guerrero. Although Jesse only had 3 blood siblings he had many other brothers as per the saying, “A Brother from another mother”.
Jesse made sure to carry on his legacy on earth by leaving two special blessings, his children. His oldest child, Adam Christopher Martinez, 19 years of age born on December 03, 1997 and youngest, Jessie Grace Martinez, 3 years of age born on October 25, 2013. He was always happy to know that his children would have plenty of family. Between his sisters there are currently 5 children and 6 grandchildren and at the current rate more to come.
Throughout Jesse’s 41 years of life he had the privilege to have many experiences with all his loved ones and friends. Some of his well-known hobbies were spades, handball, sports, movies, and let’s not forget shopping. Whether it was a Boxing Match, NBA All-star game, Dallas Cowboys Playoffs, Texas Rangers Playoffs or even Dallas Mavericks Championships he was there accompanied by his son, his sweetie or his friends. He even made it a point to go to a Marlins game with his son to take in the experience.
One thing he stated in his life, he was happy to have met all his brothers who joined him on many journeys, explorations and even hard times. For having that extended family made him smile when it was hard to do so. We the families are thankful for those who loved him and supported him at times when family was not able to do so.
In closing please take time to enjoy one of Jesse’s favorite scriptures.
Luke 18:16-17 But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
