Jesse Martinez Lopez Jr., 68, of Seven Points, TX, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at his home. Jesse was born in Dallas, TX to Jesus Martinez Lopez Sr. and Josephine Herrera Lopez on January 21, 1952.
He went to school at Crozier Tech High School, where he met his high school sweetheart Elvia Hernandez. He married Elvia on September 23, 1972, in Dallas, TX. He started his early career as a diesel mechanic with Leonard Brothers Trucking in Grand Prairie, TX, (10 years). He then started his own business, Lopez Trucking (6 years). He ended his career at Transportation Services Inc. (TSI) in Mesquite, TX, where he worked in many areas then retired as the Maintenance Director after 29 years of service.
Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Martinez Lopez Sr. and Josephine Herrera Lopez, siblings, Hortencia and Joseph Lopez.
Jesse is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Elvia, his children, son, Joseph Lopez Sr., daughters, Jessica and Carlos Munoz, Jeanette and Albert Hernandez, Isabel and Joey Perez, grandchildren, Julissa E. Lopez, Joseph Lopez Jr., Anthony N. Munoz, Annalise Hernandez, Danny Perez, Liza Cruz, and he was extremely excited to welcome the newest addition Baby Perez in July 2021. He is also survived by his siblings, Stella & Freddy Guerra, Ernest & Carole Lopez, Pedro Lopez, Mary Lopez and his Compadre who he called his brother Eddie Saldana & Nancy. There are also numerous special nieces and nephews that Jesse loved as if they were his own as well as tons of family, friends, and colleagues.
Jesse always instilled the importance of family unity to Elvia, his children and grandchildren. The love that he had for his family was immeasurable, he was so proud of his children, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He never met a person that he did not make a connection with and he will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Lopez Jr., Rivelino Lopez, Lisa D. Lopez, Armando G. Lopez, Michael A. Lopez, Robert Hernandez, Matthew Saldana, and Javier Aguilera.
The family of Jesse Jr. wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Seven Points EMS and Sheriff’s department as well as all of the family and friends that have kept our mother and our family in their prayers during this difficult time.
