Lane, Jerome (Jerry) Henry Jerome (Jerry) Henry Lane, born in Philadelphia, PA, October 27, 1925, to parents Gladys and Morton Levy, died at home surrounded by his loved ones on July 7th at 3:55 pm in Dallas, Texas. Survived by loving wife of 41 years, Joan McMurrey Lane, beloved daughter Nanci Utay and husband Eddie and their son Justin, son Robert and wife Leigh and their son Ethan, and brother and sister-in law Bill and Barbara McMurrey of North Carolina. Also survived by first wife, Helen D. Tracey. Jerry worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad in order to put himself through the University of PA, The Wharton School. He was a CPA and in 1950 began his firm which later became Lane, Gorman, Trubitt, where he was the managing partner until 1990. In 2000, he retired from his firm and was welcomed to Philip Vogel & Co. where he again retired in 2012. For many years Jerry loved his weekly poker and gin games, and his Wharton School Alumni Assn. where he served on the Board. Jerry enjoyed a charmed and blessed life, greatly loved his family, friends, business associates and clients. Vitas Hospice took special care of him at the end, and he especially loved his June caretakers Althea, Dorene, Debbie, Michelle, and Daya. His memorial service will be held July 10 at Noon, Sparkman- Hillcrest, with a reception there following the service. Officiating will be Dr. Stan Copeland, Rev. Donna Whitehead and Rabbi Jeffrey Leynor. If desired, contributions to American Heart Assn. or charity of your choice will be appreciated.
