"Breathe in Hope, Breathe out Love." These are the words Jeff Guyer lived by. He passed away peacefully at the age of 30 on Monday, June 6, 2011 in Boston, MA. He is survived by his wife and soul mate, Autumn Guyer; parents Richard and Shelly Guyer; sisters Kim (Dan) Gold and Lindsay Guyer; nieces Samantha and Jessica Gold; mother-in-law Helen Chandler; best canine friend Benson; and many loving family members and friends.
Jeff attended Greenhill School and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was an award-winning orthopedic engineer specializing in the design of spinal implants.
Jeff was the type of person we all aspire to be. Beneath his infectious smile was warmth, intelligence, and humor. He had the mind of an engineer, the soul of an artist, and a passion for sailing and biking. He fought a year-long battle against cancer with strength and courage. Jeff touched and inspired people around the world by sharing his story on his blog at www.jeffsfightwithcancer.blogspot.com. He made us laugh, cry, and taught us to "take advantage of life's little opportunities and tiny miracles."
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 12:00 PM at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please honor Jeff's wish that we continue to fight for a cure by donating to sarcoma research through the link available on his blog.
