Jean attended Poly High School in Fort Worth and the University of Colorado Boulder. A striking beauty, Jean had an early modeling career, both in photography and on the runway.
Jean Warren married Max Chapman in 1959 and together they were a magical and united pair. She helped Max build a successful architectural firm while caring for her Mother, Alta, and raising two daughters.
In the 1970’s, her fashion experience led her to work in Couture with Mr. Stanley Marcus of Neiman Marcus. Active in Stephen's Ministry, she helped many families through their journey in grief. In 2006 Jean retired from Elder Power, an organization who assisted families in finding support or hospice for their aging loved ones. Anyone who interacted with Jean appreciated her direct and forthright manner.
She was loving, witty and outspoken. A consummate hostess, Jean and Max loved to entertain. Everyone was always welcome in their home. Their parties were filled with love, laughter and a touch of elegance. She was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend to many.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving Husband of 56 years, Max Chapman. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Chapman, her granddaughter Petra Balsley. Her daughter Catherine Chapman Smith, her husband Michael Smith, her grandson Max Smith, as well as many beloved cousins.
While missed, the celebration continues as Mom and Dad are together once again holding court with their Texas Tales.
