Janna Gayle Orr, 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Walnut Place in Dallas, TX. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend to all that knew and loved her.
Born in Dallas on November 16, 1937 to E. Louis and Virginia Condor, she attended North Dallas High School and North Texas State University. She was an outspoken advocate for equal rights, equal pay and other social causes. A compassionate open-hearted person, the home she shared with her late husband Jerry had an open door for any friend or relative in need. She was an avid gardener with a knack for coaxing a bloom from every plant she touched. Later in life, she and her late sister Sally became antique dealers and travelled through the small Texas towns in search of collectibles; They were enormously enriched by the joy and laughter they shared. Survivors include her sons Darren and Darby, grandchildren Erik, Justin, Emerson, and Esme, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Orr and sister Sally Thompson. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen foundation.
