Janet Mussina

Janet J. Mussina was born June 30, 1923 in Wilmer, Tx. where she spent most of her early years before attending North Texas University and graduating in 1941. Janet later married the love of her life, Hugh O. Mussina in July of 1957. They were introduced by Janet’s sister, Joan who married Hugh’s brother, Fred. It was a fairytale story from the beginning. While Hugh and Janet never had children of their own, they had many that thought of them as their own parents.

Janet worked for Aetna for many years and became one of the first women to head a Department within the company.

Janet attended Park Cities Baptist Church for many years and was a faithful Christian.

She passed away Sunday, November 4 at Monticello West in Dallas Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh O. Mussina, parents, William H. and Grace Wilson Johnson, her sisters Jane J. Hodges and Joan J. Mussina, brothers in laws Claudius B. Hodges and Fred Mussina, nephews Thomas W. Hodges and Fred Mussina.

She is survived by her nephew Ross Mussina and niece Meredith Hodges Bagan as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and family members.

The family wishes to thank all of the wonderful friends and family that have been so supportive to “Aunt Sis” throughout this time.

Visitation Wednesday Nov. 7 6-8pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Memorial services at 4 pm on Thursday, Nov. 8 at Grove Hill Funeral Home.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Alzheimers Association or the Macular Degeneration Association.
