Jane Evans Murdoch

Jane Evans Murdoch, age 98, of Dallas Texas went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on May 16, 2020. She was born in Dallas County on September 30, 1921. Jane graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Women's University. She was married to L.E. (Larry) Murdoch on January 1, 1943. Jane was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Lois Evans, her husband Larry and two sons, Larry and Rick. She is survived by her son Bob Murdoch (wife Becca), two grandsons, Aaron (wife Allison) and Nate (wife Jackie) and six great grandchildren.

Jane and her husband Larry were charter members of Casa Linda Presbyterian Church. After its' dissolution, she joined Northridge Presbyterian Church. She loved the members of both churches and developed deep and long lasting friendships.

Jane was first a wife, mom and homemaker. She also worked for Dreyfuss & Sons as a retail clerk for eight years. She was very creative and had a passion for sewing, needlework, painting, weaving and gardening. She was a wonderful Grammy and spent countless hours loving, playing with and supporting her grandsons. Jane also enjoyed volunteering for numerous charities (Meals on Wheels, crocheting baby caps and more). She researched family history and volunteered at the the Dallas Public Library Genealogy section. Jane also volunteered at the Dallas Arboretum greenhouse and gift shop, for many years, until she was in her early 90's.

Jane will be buried in a private ceremony on May 22, 2020 at Grove Hill Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date (to be announced).
