Jane Jackson went to her heavenly home on May 9, 2014. She was born in Atlanta Georgia on 18 June 1925. She loved Atlanta and returned there often to visit her mother, brother, niece and nephew. Upon graduation from high cchool, she attended Marjorie Webster Junior College in Washington DC (actually Silver Spring Maryland). There she attended New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, where she grew in her Christian faith under the pastoral care of Dr. Peter Marshall. After college she returned to Atlanta to work as a writer for the Atlanta Constitution. Visiting Dallas Texas with her mother over Christmas 1946, she accepted a blind date for New Year ’s Eve with an Army Air Corp major recently home from the war in Europe and still in uniform, Earl Jackson. They were married the following May until his death in February 2005. She and Earl were members of Highland Park Presbyterian Church (HPPC) until the founding of Park Cities Presbyterian Church (PCPC) in 1991. At HPPC, she founded the prayer ministry, and urged Dr. Clayton Bell to preach often on intercessory prayer. She was a very active member of the HPPC Women of the Church, where she once served as president. She was also a devoted member of the Dallas Garden Club, and also served that organization as president at one time. Jane is survived by her three sons, George Jackson (wife Mary), Tom Jackson (wife Lynn), and Earl Jackson Jr. (wife Barbara), numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest Chapel on Northwest Highway with Father Jonathan Austin officiating.
