Jane was a 1951 graduate of Highland Park High School and a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority while attending the University of Texas at Austin. After she married Malcolm Robertson in 1954, she participated as a co-founder of the Pi Beta Phi chapter at Texas Tech University.
Jane was predeceased by her parents, Phyllis and Guy Carter; her three sisters, Phyllis Anne Cowden, Sara Mayes and Pamela Taylor; her first husband, John Malcolm Robertson, Sr.; her daughter, Anne Michelle Robertson Frizzell; her granddaughter, Stephanie Anne Frizzell, her grandson, John Wesley Frizzell, her second husband, Lewis C. Holder; and her step-daughter, Betsy Elaine Holder.
Jane is survived by her son, John Malcolm Robertson, Jr. and wife, Suzanne; her daughter, Amy Gretchen Robertson Richards and husband, Cory, and her step-daughter, Susan Holder Ramey and husband, O. D.; her four grandchildren, John Malcolm Robertson III and wife, Olivia, Jane Elizabeth Robertson Richardson and husband, Dakotah, Audrey Camille Richards Finch and husband, Roy, and Charlotte Carter Richards; her three step-grandchildren, Jeffrey Phillip Geurin and wife, Amy, Elizabeth Geurin Johnson and husband, Craig, and Clinton Christen Ramey and wife, Alie; her three great-grandchildren, Elda Elizabeth Robertson, Carter James Finch and Ryan Cory Finch; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and step-great-grandchildren.
Jane was an avid card player and excelled at gin rummy, poker and bridge. In the 1990s she attained the rank of junior grandmaster of bridge.
The primary character traits in Jane’s life were two gifts given to her by God, those being unbreakable faith in the Lord and unconditional love for her family and friends. This love was evidenced by her ability to display these elements of the fruit of the spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23, to wit: love, joy, kindness and gentleness.
Jane’s family acknowledges and gives its greatest thanks to her two caregivers for the last four years: Tammy Miller and Misty McFatridge.
A memorial service celebrating Jane’s life is scheduled for Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 11:00 A.M., at Park Cities Presbyterian Church, 4124 Oak Lawn Ave, Dallas, Texas 75219, Dr. Pete Deison officiating.
