Raised on the Westside of Chicago, Jane received her education through the Chicago Public School Systems before she relocated to Racine, Wisconsin. Thereafter, she finished her high school education at Horlick and Park High School.
Jane, affectionately known as “Pig”, married the love of her life, Andre on June 14, 1986. Shortly after, Pig and Andre relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Jane confessed her life to Christ and served as a member of Jeremiah Missionary Baptist Church in Milwaukee, WI where she served faithfully as a member of the choir and the senior usher board.
After relocating to Irving, Texas she continued her walk in faith attending The Lord's Missionary Baptist Church and Mount Rose Church.
Jane was employed by Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Later making Visa Lighting her final employer before deciding to be a stay at home mother and wife.
Jane was a very devoted wife, loving mother, caring sister, and an amazing grandmother. Opening her arms and home to anyone in need. Jane was a bonus mom to most of her children's friends, even nieces and nephews. She loved being with her family and close friends who became family. Being a great friend and listener, she found much humor in “talking her stuff”, remaining honest whether you’re right or wrong. She found joy in watching movies, playing cards, casinos and cooking fish her love Andre caught on a daily basis. Jane loved her some company. Always asking “You sure you have to go?”. She took pride in loving everyone.
On May 10, 2020, Jane gained her wings and entered into her new home.
Jane was preceded in death by her son; Andre Bernard Jr., father; James Pickett Sr., Grandmother; Katie Bell, Aunt; Lilly Rhodes, Uncle; Bob Paige, mother and father in law; Handy and Ozee Bernard.
Jane leaves to cherish her memories; her loving husband of 33 years, Andre Bernard, four loving children; Andrea(Shelvis), Randell(Shakila), Randy and Denzel(Amanda); twelve grandchildren; NyAire, Eliyah, Donavin, Emari, Amyilah,Embre, Azzaria, Eleeah, DeVani, Amonie, Endia and Amiriae. Mother; Clara M. Pickett, Siblings; Patricia Sullivan(Kevin), Sharon Barry, Katie Pickett and Carl Pickett. One Aunt; Jessie Thompson. Two God daughters; Latresha Luckett (Randy) and Precious Mathews. Her brother and Sister in laws, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
