James passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2019 at his home in Grand Prairie. He was born July 3, 1930, in Colfax, TX to B.B. White and Ruth Oliver White. He graduated from Canton High School in 1948 and then joined the United States Army. He became a Military Police and spent most of his time stationed in post war Germany. Serving from September 1948 to June 1952.
James White married Nancy Johnson on July 25, 1953. They lived in Dallas, then eventually moved to Grand Prairie in 1956. He worked as a commercial printer for Fleming & Sons for 30 plus years. James loved spending time at his place in the country, the RB, in his spare time. He served as a Boy Scout Troop Master, helped with Camp Fire Girls, SGPHS Band Fan, and Methodist Youth Fellowship as a Youth Sponsor.
James was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, parents B.B. & Ruth White, his sons Allen and an infant son who was stillborn, and a brother Jerome White.
He is survived by his daughter Vicki Irwin, son Rick White, and Derek Mayfield. Their wife and partner, Rebecca and Kathy, all of Grand Prairie, TX. Also, survived by 10 grandchildren and their spouses – Mark & Lisa Hurlbut, Lance & Nikki White, Kyle & Jeannette White, Staci & James Cooper, Jarod & Danielle White, Sage White, Renee & Richard Sullivan, Alexis & Chris Horton, Pat Hilburn, & Heather Mayfield, as well as 17 great grandchildren.
