James Rodgers Tatom, Sr. passed away peacefully at home into God’s arms September 3, 2022.He was born to William Charles Tatom, Sr. and Sophie Rodgers Tatom on May 18, 1931. He was the second of three boys. Jim grew up in Dallas and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1948. He served in the Navy on the USS Randolph. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1956. He married Lucy Martin on June 28, 1957 and they celebrated their 65th anniversary in June. He was a beloved Husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, three children, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, his family and friends. Jim loved fly fishing, hunting, family pets and spending time in Montana. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the charity of your choice.
A funeral service for James will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at First Christian Church of Gainesville, 401 N Dixon, Gainesville, TX 76240.
